What we collect

Almost nothing. We use no cookies, there are no user accounts, and no forms on this site send data to us. The one thing we do is measure aggregate visitor trends with privacy-friendly analytics, described next.

Analytics (privacy-friendly)

We use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool, to understand aggregate trends such as how many people visit, which pages are popular, rough country, and referring sites. It sets no cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not build a profile of you. Your IP address is used only transiently to count visits and estimate approximate location, and is not stored. Because this collects no personal data and uses no cookies, no consent is required; if you prefer, enabling your browser's “Do Not Track” setting opts you out.

Processing that is technically necessary

To show the interactive map, your browser loads map tiles directly from our map providers (OpenStreetMap and CARTO), and the site itself is delivered by our hosting provider (Render). As with visiting any website, these providers necessarily receive your device's IP address in order to send content back to you. This is a technical requirement of serving the page. We do not use it to identify you and we do not combine it with anything else. Our server may keep short-lived technical logs (such as the requested path) and applies basic rate-limiting purely to keep the service available and secure. The map data itself (neighbourhoods, attractions, gastronomy) is served to everyone the same way and is not personal to you.

If you email us

The “Contact Us” page is simply an email link. If you choose to email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write so we can reply. We keep that message only as long as needed to respond to you.

Legal basis and consent

Because we use no cookies and our analytics is cookieless and collects no personal data, no consent is required to use this site. Our analytics and the limited, technically necessary processing described above rely on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding, delivering, and securing the service.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In practice we hold essentially no personal data about you, so for most requests there is simply nothing on file, but you are welcome to contact us with any question at navigatai@outlook.com.

Children

NavigatAI is a general-audience information site and is not directed at children, and we knowingly collect no data from anyone.
